More than a Boarding Facility

Swanleigh is an Anglican co-educational establishment which is home to almost 160 middle and upper school (year 7 -12) rural and remote students attending schools in the metropolitan area. It is a place which offers opportunities for the total personal development of students. Swanleigh also has a strong sense of community and a nurturing environment where adolescents receive the support and care to grow and achieve their full potential.

Choice of Schools

Comprehensive Sports Programme

Swanleigh operates a very successful and comprehensive sports programme, most of which occurs on weekends. Sports include:

Pleasant Rural Environment

Our picturesque and rural location on 69 acres between the Swan River and Jane Brook becomes a real 'home away from home' - especially for country students.

Activities Programme

We also offer an enormous range of recreational activities. With our own fleet of buses, students can participate in supervised activities throughout the metropolitan area. Activities are conducted to appeal to all students so they range from live theatre performances to ice skating and ten pin bowling.

Supportive Christian Environment

Students are encouraged to develop personal integrity, respect and concern for others and assume responsibility for their actions within a supportive Christian environment. Swanleigh is part of the Anglican Diocese of Perth, and as such we hold a Service for the students each Sunday and it is expected that all students attend each Service.

Student Care

The staff at Swanleigh seek to provide a great, stable atmosphere in which your children are able to learn and grow both academically and in other areas of life.

Academic Support

This is our top priority. Swanleigh has in place a wide range of academic support programmes to ensure that students have every opportunity to achieve their full potential. These include group and individual tutorials, seminars, academic support staff, careers counselling and access to University and TAFE information.

Pastoral Care

In addition to comfortable accommodation and good food, Swanleigh has a strongly supportive family like environment, with students living in well appointed 'Houses'. Each house accommodates approximately 30 students. Full time house parents develop a close personal relationship with all students, aided by specific programmes (eg. Peer Support) and well qualified educational and activity support staff.

Partnership with Parents/Guardians

We strongly encourage a partnership with parents/guardians in the total care and personal development of their students. We acknowledge the parent/guardian as the primary care giver and decision maker with respect to their child's growth and development.
